Shoes at fashion brunch

Fashion designer Mirkka Metsola had fashion brunch a Klaus K Hotel and kindly asked my shoes to be part of the fashion show. Mirkka Metsola presented her new SS12 collection.

The brunch was brillint!
While you are having your brunch (customized by the designer Mirkka Metsola) you can enjoy fashion. These fashion brunches have also been starred by designer Katri Niskanen and next satudray 5.5.2012 it will be designer Mert Otsamo's turn.

IRON HIGH Project

Great minds think contrariwise. That's basically the reason why we started this project, to gain something valuable from each other. To approach a shoe from a different angle, as undefined 3D object with no relation to fashion industry drifting by. To share knowledge about techniques, proportions, relationships and life. To find out where do we stand at this very moment and for what.

We have been focused on raw materials and their natural capability to join one another. Best shapes are born when elements are combined according to their own characters, not when they are forced to agree with a designers vain ideas. There is no shape free from material, like no mind can never be free from ones background.

Iron is the linchpin of this project, and most of the action takes place in a blacksmith workshop environment. As an outcome we would like to see few pairs of unique, walkable high heel shoes.
No limits on materials, design or time has been set.

Here is the first shoe. Nails. Isn't she lovely.

Lasten kengät

Tein viime syksynä kengät RAWR Magazinen järjestämään huutokauppaan, joka tapahtuu Huuto.netissä 29.2.-31.3. Mukana ovat suunnittelijat Mert Otsamo, Minna Hepburn, Hanna Sarén, Irene Mikaela ja Jukka Rintala. Jokainen suunnittelija on tehnyt uniikin lastenvaatteen hyvään tarkoitukseen. Huutokaupasta saadut tulot menevät Parasta Lapsille Ry:lle.

RAWR Magazine on mielenkiintoinen uusi lehti, jonka tekijät uskovat lapsuuden ihanaan ihmemaahan. RAWRin arvomaailma kolahti minuunkin. Mahtava olla mukana näin hienossa ja raikkaassa projektissa :)

Parasta Lapsille | Shoes in charity auction

In co-operation with Finnish top designers, renowned hair-stylist Tom Wennerstrand, photographer Daniela Talvitie and Huuto.net, RAWR Magazine is arranging a charity auction to benefit the child welfare organization Parasta Lapsille. The auction takes place at Huuto.net from 29 February to 31 March and all proceedings will go toward acquiring outdoor equipment and games for immigrant children living in Finland.
Inspired by the good cause, six established Finnish designers have created unique pieces for your child’s wardrobe.
These pieces will be presented during the launching of RAWR Magazine. Participating designers are Minna Hepburn, Hanna Sarén, Irene Mikaela, Jukka Rintala, Mert Otsamo, and Emmi Malmström.
